Join us at Ashlar's Nature-Based Academic Programs!

Our students seek opportunities to further explore concepts in an active and engaged, indoor/outdoor setting with peers. These programs are supplemental in nature, building upon the skills that are developing through their regular coursework that is being completed as homeschoolers at home.

 

Each program includes one full hour of unstructured time for the children to enjoy a snack together and explore in our 5-acre farmyard, which may include visiting (or caring for!) our petting-zoo-friendly farm animals.

 

During the other two hours of the program, the children are actively engaged in long-term projects that are facilitated by our Mentors, but ultimately led by the children in the program. These long-term, goal-oriented projects are what set our Nature-Based Academic Programs apart from the Farm & Forest Programs.

 

At-home responsibilities may sometimes be required, such as learning lines for a play. Ultimately, these programs provide a way for homeschoolers to branch out from their at-home curriculum, make connections, share in the wonders of learning and exploring with peers, and thrive.
