A nature-based homeschool enrichment program for children ages 7-15 that invites teens and tweens to practice teamwork and problem-solving through real world projects.

Experience the wonders of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) apply them in a natural and engaging setting! This program is divided into two cohorts: ages 7-10, and ages 11-15. Each month, Mentors present new eco-friendly challenges to Questers who have the opportunity to develop holistically and share their creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. We follow a simple daily rhythm that includes time to focus and reflect on each challenge, interspersed with plenty of unstructured time to reset, relax, and socialize with peers in the fresh air of our beautiful Maple Valley farm.

Challenges may look like:

Microworlds: Explore the microcosms that exist in nature and use natural materials and resources to create your own Microworld!

Tell me a story!: Explore the ways to express your ideas, dreams and stories through the creative visual arts. How can we use them to improve the world around us?

Children will also have the opportunity to explore garden-to-table concepts and fresh foods as part of their curriculum. Please pack a snack. Come and see how STEAMQuest can enrich your child’s life!

A nature-based homeschool enrichment program for children ages 7-15 that teaches farm skills and connects children with the natural cycles of the earth.

FarmQuest supports personal and social development, as well as academic and vocational skills. This program is divided into two cohorts: ages 7-10, and ages 11-15. Each month, Mentors present new eco-friendly themes to Questers who have the opportunity to develop holistically and share their empathy, problem-solving, entrepreneurship, and communication skills.  We also invite guest speakers from different farms or organizations to enrich our program and share their expertise and stories.

The Little Red Barn in Maple Valley is home to alpacas, playful pigs, energetic goats, and even a small animal rescue which has taken in injured squirrels and other wildlife. Investigate and experiment with the natural cycles of the earth, the patterns of the moon, and the diversity of life. Learn how to care for animals, work with tools, grow plants, prepare food with fresh ingredients, or create products, or make eco-friendly crafts. Could you live off grid with your farm? Is it your dream to rescue animals? How do the sun and mood affect our plants and animals? Stretch your imagination and get your daily goat cuddles in with this earth and animal focused program. Children will also have the opportunity to explore garden-to-table concepts and fresh foods as part of their curriculum. Please pack a snack. Come experience how our connections to each other can be enhanced by connection with animals and the earth!
