An all-outdoor forest kindergarten preparation program for children ages 4-6 that encourages whole-body learning through exploration and play at the beautiful Lake Wilderness Arboretum.

We believe that children deserve time in nature before school life begins. The gentle challenges nature offers us help promote well-being in children as they develop motor skills, problem solving, resilience, and confidence that they carry with them in other aspects of life. Our Mentors promote holistic development by celebrating creativity, curiosity, and self expression as children learn about the natural world and draw connections between themselves and the animals, plants, and seasons. We follow a simple daily rhythm of circle time, eco-friendly pre-k activities, and plenty of time to explore, discover, and build friendships. Children will also have the opportunity to explore garden-to-table concepts and fresh foods as part of their curriculum. Please pack a snack. Our Mentors will assess children based on Washington Gold Standards for Nature-Based Preschools, ensuring they are building the skills essential to kindergarten success. Enrollment in all three days is strongly recommended for continuity and community building.
