Stephanie Church

On-Call Mentor

I’m Stephanie,

I’ve spent most of my life in the greater Seattle area and I love being outside! I got my BA in Environmental Education from Western Washington University, and a few years later a masters in Special Education from University of Washington. I am passionate about teaching to the whole child, meeting kids at their level, and inclusive practices. I have many years experience teaching kids inside the classroom and outdoors. I love watching kids explore and grow, and I am excited to be part of the Ashlar team!

Bonus facts about me: my favorite plant is the deer fern, I love to travel, and I have a one-eyed bunny named Patch

Ashlar is a WA State nonprofit organization pending 501(c)3 status, dedicated to whole-child, nature-based learning in community.

Ashlar acknowledges that the land we work on and care for, Maple Valley, WA, is located on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, particularly the Snoqualmie Tribe, the Puyallup Tribe, and other bands within the shared waters of the Puget Sound, requiring acknowledgments that respect their stewardship, acknowledge forced removal, and commit to ongoing partnership and land care, not just words.
