Master Mentor - Marble Studio
I’m Melissa Tomlinson. I have a degree in elementary education and have taught in public schools and private schools. I also teach children in different small classes outside of the public schools and have for many years. This has led me to find a place where curiosity and love of learning can blossom, which is how I ended up at Ashlar.
My husband Torrey and I have four children and three dogs which leads to lots of crazy fun at home.
Our family lives on a green belt and next to a lake. We outdoor play seriously.
Over the years of being a teacher and a mother, I have quickly learned that children thrive outside. Their creativity, well-being and overall health is increased when spending time exploring and learning in nature. They independently discover the beautiful gifts of the world and gain self confidence, among so many other great things.
I love how children are naturally curious and eager to learn. I love fostering and witnessing that love of learning.
I love to explore healthy recipes and feed good food to my family, I love hiking and running outside and I love learning. I always have a stack of books next to my bed and an audiobook to listen to.
There is so much to learn and explore in this world, and I'm excited to have the opportunity to do that with the bright, curious students at Ashlar!
